Is he waiting to see if the trawler will return soon? Or perhaps he spies a storm in the distance...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI made this print because I regularly see small fishing boats out at sea catching local fish. The fisherman depicted in this card harks back to the early 20th century as I wanted to give a sense of mystery and of a bygone era. The colour palette is limited to blues and purples to evoke the depths of night and a sense of drama - which I always feel on a full moon, as depicted here.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA reduction linoprint requires gradually destroying the linoblock you are working on. Each layer requires more and more of the plate to be carved away which gives depth and complexity to a print. It also means the print run is very limited because once the lino is carved away, it is impossible to create an exact replica again.
