This greetings card is a reproduction of a larger reduction linocut print I made of a pink oyster mushrooms.

The bold image highlights the texture and colour of these beautiful mushrooms against a stark white background. Using a rich coral and pink palette, a sense of the delicate nature of these mushrooms are captured.

Reduction linocut prints require destroying a sheet of lino as successive layers are carved and printed on top of one another. This makes the linocut prints themselves very limited and unique, and can be quite the  experiment for the printmaker who be incredibly precise when printing each layer, and must take risks as they gradually cut away the block until there is nothing left.
